SEXY Laura Dore Visions of a Latex Vixen

A couple of months ago I told to expect an interview with Laura Dore. Girl has been busy this summer (Lowrider Girlz, SHOW Paradise and the music video for Jamie Fox ft. Kanye West, Drake and The Dream “Digital Girl”) so it was bit longer coming than planned. If you thought Laura was your average video vixen think again. Here it is with some new Lauraskanz.

You seem to be showing sides of your personality a lot of models don’t bare. Has it been liberating for you? Are you having fun with it?
I’m grateful to have the opportunity to have so much variety with my shoots. I like shooting traditional glamour but fetish has allowed me to show more of my personality.

You came to San Francisco to study burlesque; how was that experience?
I loved it. I can’t wait for my first show. Betty was a great teacher and gave me a crash course in the history of burlesque. I’ve always admired Dita Von Teese and I love Kitten Deville
In your SHOWCase interview you said you had never been to Europe; now that you have been several times with photo shoots in England and Italy, what did you think of it? Any culture shocks?
I didn’t want to leave, lol. No real culture shocks though, people there are definitely more culturally aware and open minded than the states. I have family in Gaeta, Italy and my sister is attending University College LondonYou’re a fan of horror, aside from Sweeney Todd what are some of your other film favorites?
Natural Born KillersHouse of 1000 Corpses and Devil’s Rejects (I’m a Zombie fan), Donnie Darko and anything Tim Burton (I’m waiting patiently for the Alice in Wonderland remake). I also have a thing for campy 80’s horror movies like Basketcase and Sleepaway Camp.

You’ve said you would like to write Horror/Sci-Fi books. What are some of your favorite books in the genre?
I love Clive Barker, Stephen King and Edgar Allen Poe. I just finished reading Paradise Lostand I’m about to start on Stephen King’s Duma Key. A couple of my favorites would probably be Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World ( I am fascinated with the idea of one choosing to stay inside their own head instead of picking reality), Mister B. Gone ( who doesn’t love the autobiography of a demon) and the whole Dark Tower series.

You’ve listed shooting guns as a hobby; what gun do you prefer to shoot? Should we expect to see any gun fetish features in the future?
I will definitely be shooting with guns in the future (pun intended). I would love to shoot with a Tommy Gun. My favorite handgun would be a glock, but I really love the AR15. I own a 22 and am on my way to upgrading. My only reservation about purchasing a glock was the lack of a safety lock.

You picked Doré from the 19th Century Illustrator Gustave Doré, are there any other visual artists that inspire you?
I’m a huge fan of pinup artist Olivia, and I’ve just had the pleasure of working with artist Armando Huerta.

I saw some buzz about you getting banned from MySpace in August, but I didn’t read any public statements from you. Anything you want to say?
Hahaha! I’m always getting censored! I’ll know I’ve made it when I’ve been protested against lolYou have a tattoo of Koi on your left foot, you studied Suzuki violin in high school, and you’re are a fan of Haruki Murakami. Do you have bit of thing for Japanese culture?
I do appreciate Japanese culture, I really have a thing for culture in general. I studied Suzuki violin from elementary through high school at the University of Texas. My sister and I would have to go to orchestra every Saturday morning. We always hated we could never go to slumber parties on Friday night because of it.
I got the koi on my foot because I like that it symbolizes strength and perseverance. The origins are actually Chinese. The legend tells of how any koi that succeeded in climbing the falls at a point called Dragon Gate (on the Yellow River) would be transformed into a dragon. Based on that legend, it became a symbol of worldly aspiration and advancement. I also have Felix the cat smoking a joint on my leg ( this is why 15 year olds should NOT get ink, lol). I’m currently getting laser treatments to remove it. I want to eventually get a sleeve or fill up one side of my back.
Murakami is a great author for anyone that enjoys offbeat, open ended stories, Hard- Boiled Wonderland is one of my favorites. I love Japanese horror movies,Takashi Miike has made some pretty awesome films (nothing better than a crazy ex ballerina cutting of a man’s foot with a piano wire LOL).
