In case you missed it...Junip @ The 5 Points Theatre 6/13/2011

The 5 Points Theatre and Underbelly Productions delivered an amazing line up of talented musicians. There wasn't a moment where I wasn't overwhelmed by a feeling of gratitude for being apart of such an incredible night. Therefore, I wanted to share...in case you missed it. :)

The line up in order of appearance:

Katie Grace Helow

I was moved by her powerful voice and lighthearted nature.
Katie's Facebook Page

Antique Animals

They had great energy and had people dancing.

Helado Negro

His performance and use of visuals blew me away.
Asthmatic Kitty Records

Junip

I'm not going to lie...my heart nearly exploded. They were amazing.

Junip and Helado Negro are playing @ the Social in Orlando on Thursday, so if you have the opportunity to catch the show...do it!

Remember, in order to continue to get such amazing bands to come to Jacksonville, we have to show up when they do. Get out there and support Jacksonville!

The CoRK Arts District

CoRK Art District from Bike Jax on Vimeo.

Well some of you might already know it as The Beer or Brewery District being it's located near Bold City and Intuition Ale Works. If you have driven down Rosselle St in Riverside past Bold City you might have noticed some renovation to a old warehouse next to the train tracks. The Warehouse which is being called The CoRK (The Corner of Rosselle and King) is going to be the home of Dolf James 8000 sq ft studio, Jim Draper Gallery 2400 sq ft gallery, Crystal Floyd/ Jamie Jordan (Treefort creative) 1200 sq ft studio, George Cornwell Fine Art Printing/ Noli Novak Fine Art & Illustration 1000 sq ft studio, Jen Jones Art Consulting Jen Jones and Donald Dusinberre 1200 sq ft studio, Sharla Valeski Next Gallery 800 sq ft studio and just recently announced the new home of Underbelly. Seems to be a good start on a soon to be great place. info taken from their facebook page

The Skraelings "Scream Queen" Music Video

Check out this new video by the local band The Skraelings (Alternative/Electro/rock). I enjoyed seeing familiar faces in it ;)

"It's senior prom, 1985 and one girl will do ANYTHING to get the crown... even if she has to KILL her competition"

The Skraelings FaceBook page:
With a groundswell of support, the duo recorded, mixed, and mastered the debut LP, "Super Dance Party Remix" and released with through Movement Magazine's artist-run label Frequencies in Fall 2009.

Completing the full lineup are Bass Player/Vocalist Corina Seaburn, Drummer Corey Farmer, and Guitarist Ryan North.

The band is currently playing throughout Northeast Florida and preparing to release their followup LP "II", an album which thrusts the decidedly electro-clash band in a harsher, more progressive direction.
