Yesterday...JeenLoong, a scrawny Malaysian youth, sat in solitude. His pearly eyes glinted as though the stars in the night sky as he resided into the backdrop of the hustling and bustling KAP. Those eyes were filled with sorrow and despair as he gazed upon a neoprint of a girl in his left hand, a neoprint of a princess, his princess.

In his mind he sought to recollect the scenes during dance-sport sabbaticals, the moments when every instant was filled with bliss and ecstasy, the time when every thing else in the world became oblivious to him, however the memories were fading fast, just like the neoprint in his hands. His princess was so close yet so far, he knew she was nearby but could not feel her presence anymore, he knew that they were losing touch, and his tears welled up in his eyes.

He felt hopelessly inferior, if only he had confessed earlier, she would have been his for good. Now, its far too late, someone had already done so before him, he regretted his indecisiveness but he understood that regrets would only beget more sorrow.

On his right hand was a handphone with an unsent message: "Yanni, could you and Lizzin come over to KAP to have have dinner with me?" He pondered over whether he should send it, he was afraid of failure as his vulnerable heart was scarred by countless past rejections. However, Lizzin to JeenLoong was like oxygen to us, without her, he would never be able to stand up against world. He had no option, as he tapped on the "send" button, he prayed.

The response was unforgiving: "I'm so sorry, Lizzin wants to have dinner at my house." His prayers were not answered. Disappointment gripped him like a vice. He was immobilised, stunned by the biggest rejection he had ever experience. It took him awhile to recover. Nevertheless, he typed: "But my heart yearns for her, I am improving my English just for you Lizzin, why can't you sacrify abit for me? I missed the dance we did together during sabbatical, could you come down now and dance with me? ChaCha or Waltz?"

The reply from Lizzin was absolutely unexpected: "Actually, I missed the dances we did together too, save that dance for me, I really cannot make it today. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, don't miss me dear!"

JeenLoong was stunned beyond words, he thought he was dreaming. He even went to the extent of asking the MacDonald cashier to pinch him. It was reality, a dream come true. His princess was his after all. All these happened yesterday...

Moral of the story:
1) Don't assume, always ask!
2) Don't listen to TongZi, take your time.
3) Don't lend your friends your phone.
