Those willing to see more than a 100 Santa Clauses spreading awareness on climate change during this Christmas should visit the golden beach in Puri.
The golden beach of Puri is crowded with hundred Santa Clauses, all in sand, to spread the message about global warming on the occasion of Christmas celebration.
Former world champion sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created these sand Santa Clauses in a unique way at the seventh sand art festival.
Generally Santa Clause brings gifts to home for good children but these Santa Clauses would be spreading messages about global warming and giving plants as gift.
Sudarsan Pattnaik, record holder in the Limca book of World record, would be trying for another record by creating hundred sand Santa Clauses on the beach.
Along with the Santa Clauses, Sudarsan has also created Christmas trees with a message ''Save Earth from Global Warming''. He has used 1000 tones of sand and worked for nearly 36 hours to complete all these sand sculptures.
The sand artist has used colour sand to create the live images of Santa Clause with the assistance of 20 students of his institute.
Mr Pattnaik said Puri is the place where sand art started in the 14th century AD. Large tourist inflow into the pilgrim city during Christmas, was also another reason for him to chose the awareness on global warming through his creations.
The world famous sand artist had so far participated in more than 39 international sand sculpture championships and festivals across the world and won many awards for the country.
Last year he had created World's biggest sand Santa Clause, Jesus Christ and longest Santa Clause at Puri beach which was placed in Limca book of World record.
Through his sand art, Sudarsan had depicted the tsunami victims in India, earthquake victims, endangered olive ridley turtles and spread awareness of the dangers of HIV-AIDS and polio, besides tribute to train blast victims.
