Some 300 contestants tool part in 4th UK Cold Water Swimming Championships on 24th January 2009 at Tooting Bec Lido in South London, presenting interesting swimsuits.
This annual event has become a must for cold water swimmers, each year attracting many people who are trying it for the very first time. Age and ability is no barrier as with temperatures as low as 4°C, jumping in for the 30 metre races is a challenge in itself. The winter swimming championships maintain a 100 year-old tradition of year round swimming at the lido and show people that anything is possible.
